The second half of 2007.

Halloween - Visiting the Petting Zoo and Pumpkins with Grandma and Grandpa

Okay so it's been 6 months since I've posted... we've been having fun, working hard and getting ready for the arrival of Evie's baby brother.

Here are some photos from the second half of the year. :) I have since renamed the blog to set expectations ...

In August we went to Myrtle Beach - actually Ocean Isle - with Grandma and Grandpa. Evie loved running on the sand and playing in the ocean. It was very hot but we made the best of it and had a great time.

Then in September we went to Smith Mountain Lake with Mema and Papa. It was fun, but a little nerve-wracking with Evie - she was still a little unsteady on her feet and constantly wanted to go up and down the millions of steps to the lake from the house. Then once there, she liked to dart around the dock, giving me heart failure repeatedly. There was no beach were we were, just a straight drop into the lake. So, in hindsight, not the best place for toddlers. Plus Evie was in her "mommy-monster" phase, where she only wanted me and she just wouldn't give me a break. But it was good to be away anyway and hang out with Mema and Papa. Matt and I also went to visit our lake lot at Heron Pointe on Leesville Lake and dream about someday having our own lake house to visit.

Bad Mommy

So it's been um... months since I've updated this blog. And of course I feel guilty, because most of Evie's friends' mommies are regular scrapbooker/videoer/blogger types... but I just can't seem to find the time or the inclination. Bad mommy! But has it even crossed Dad's mind?
We've been having a great summer - it's been way too hot, but as you can see we have been enjoying the pool, popsicles and playing outside.
Evelyn is a little sponge these days... every day it's a few more words. It's really fun to witness her learning so much. She's definitely a mommy's girl these days. "Mommy, mommy!!!"

We are trying to learn how to discipline her - she is not very nice to her doggies... she likes to run up and slap them. We had made some headway with being "nice" to the doggies... she pats them and says "Niiiiiiice" but tonight she repeatedly tried to assault them and tired mom and dad out!
She's definitely approaching TWO quickly, but she can also be sweet as pie - "thank you" is one of her most used phrases, so we're doing something right at least...

Hanging around the house

Some things I love to say and do now are:
Give you things so you will say "thank you."
Touch your nose and mouth and eyes and say "no, mou, eyes"
Say "ball" and throw the ball to Hannah.
Play with balloons, balls and bubbles.
Pretend to talk on the phone, but then be silent when someone actually wants to talk to me.
Press buttons of any sort. Take things out and put things back.
Walk walk walk as long as you help or I have something to hold onto.

Here I am taking a break from playing...

Then checking out some pictures Mom needs to re-hang on the wall...

Here are some from Gram's and Rob's birthday party

And heading out for a walk with Dad and the 'Gogs'

Hawaii Trip Jan/Feb 2007

We just returned from a wonderful week on Kauai. We stayed at the oceanfront house my great grandfather Moragne built in the 1950s. Sadly it is for sale now but my parents and grandparents were really happy to stay there again and bring me for my first visit. I loved spending time with Grandma and Grampa Bartmess and playing in the sand and surf. I also loved taking showers al fresco in the outdoor shower!

Here are some photos of me on the beach with Mom & Dad and eating sand of course!

This is how I score points with dad. Snuggle and be my cute little self!
